Simply AmazingI was recommended Thai LGBT Connect by an Australian friend who has used them a few times. As I was travelling on my own I was keen to use a personal guide and have a bespoke tour. Well my guide, Bird (owner of Asian Plus Travel) could not have done more to make my holiday one of my most amazing and enjoyable holidays ever. His preparation and attention to detail was second to none. I was sent an itinerary well before I arrived so we could modify this if I wanted (which I did) He was a very knowledgable entertaining and friendly guide and someone who clearly cares about his clients and ensuring that they have the best experience possible. I was driven in a brand new Toyota car by Ben who was a very careful and safe driver and went out his way to help. Being local Bird knew the best places to eat (where the locals go) all of which were very inexpensive. I can’t give you a highlight of the trip as it was all so amazing. I think though the lasting feeling is now one of making new lasting friends and developing an understanding of the culture and people of Northern Thailand. Obviously a private bespoke tour is not the cheapest way to travel but I would highly recommend it as with Asian Plus Travel and Bird you get to see so much more, at your own pace and without being herded along like cattle in a large tour group so I the end it offers outstanding value for money and makes the whole experience so much more enriching.John P wrote a review Nov 2019Date of experience: November 2019

NORTHERN THAILAND IN TOUCH [PHRAE – NAN – PHAYAO]DAY 01: CHIANG MAI / ARRIVAL 18:30 Hrs. Arrive to Chiang Mai airport, meet and greet with your male handsome tour guide. Then transfer to the hotel for check in and give some more information about your trip.Overnight: Chiang Mai Meal: xDAY 02: CHIANG MAI / PHRAE / NAN07:00 Hrs. Check out from the hotel and drive along the mountainous road from Chiang Mai to Phrae Province (3 hours drive). On the way stop to visit Phra That Suthon Mongkhon Khiri Temple, the prominent landmark is the golden teak museum known as Suwan Ho Kham Museum in the Lanna-style and constructed from 14 traditional houses. Arrive to Phare Town…. Sightseeing tours with the exquisite Vongburi House; where is located in town, and was built in 1897, a 2 – story build in teak, Thai – European style fine architectural house. The house was awarded “an excellent conservation of the year 1993” award by the Society of Siam Architecture under Royal Patronage.Lunch served at the local restaurant.Then visit to Phra That Cho Hae Temple; a major religious and perhaps the most sacred Buddhism site of Phrae. The highlight is the 33-meter-tall Chiang Saen-style phra that (pagoda), wrapped with bright brass sheets, which enshrines holy relics of Lord Buddha. Continue through rural villages to Muang Phi, which depicts strange eroded rock formations, sandstone canyons and creeks. In old times villagers often got lost in the shrubs, which inspired them to name the place Phae Muang Phi, or “Ghost City”. Depart to Nan Province (2 hours drive) where is a remote province to be explored for its natural beauty. Nan’s ethnic groups are another highlight and differ significantly from those in other northern provinces.Transfer to hotel for check in, free at leisure.Overnight: NanMeal: Lunch (1)DAY 03: NAN / CITY & TEMPLES TOURS08:00 Hrs. Enjoy a city sightseeing of Nan including visit to Phumin Temple, which was constructed in 1596 and restored during the reign of Chao Ananta Vora Ritthi Det (1867-1875). This temple is also a home of Thailand’s famous ancient wall murals called Pu Man, Ya Man which appears on the wall paintings, in Tai Lue style.Continue to visit Phra That Chang Kham Temple; as it was constructed to be a Royal Temple. According to the 74th stone of inscription discovered within the compound, this temple was built during the reign of Chaopu Khaeng in 1406 to be a place for rulers to conduct Buddhist ceremonies and the Oath of Allegiance Ceremony.Lunch served at the local restaurant.Depart to visit Nan National Museum; the museum was built in 1903 by Phra Chao Suriyapnong Phalidet, the penultimate lord of Nan. The display the historical artifacts and the most distinguished is the Black Ivory.Continue to visit Phra That Chae Haeng Temple; which believed to contain the relic of the Lord Buddha. The Viharn’s door frame is Naga shape designed, which considered being one of the great artistic and best in local architectures.Then transfer back to hotel, free at leisure.Overnight: NanMeal: Lunch (2)DAY 04: NAN / PHAYAO / CHIANG MAI08:00 Hrs. Check out from the hotel and drive along the mountainous road from Nan to Payao Province (3 hours drive) where Kwan Phayao; an extensive fresh-water lake which is the largest fresh-water fish habitat in the upper North which provides the livelihood of many of the local people. Visit to Wat Sri Khom Kam with its Phra Chao Ton Luang Buddha statue, 17 meters high. กสอ. ชี้ดีมานด์อุตฯ บริการกลุ่มท่องเที่ยวเพศทางเลือกมีแนวโน้มดีรับท่องเที่ยว ปี 64โชว์ผู้ประกอบการ THAI LGBT CONNECT เซอร์วิสดีไซน์สุดล้ำที่ออกแบบมาเฉพาะเข้าใจคุณที่สุด จ.เชียงใหม่ 14 พฤศจิกายน 2563 – กรมส่งเสริมอุตสาหกรรม (กสอ.) เผยตลาดอุตสาหกรรมบริการการท่องเที่ยวในกลุ่มเพศทางเลือกทั่วโลกมีมูลค่าสูงถึง 6.64 ล้านล้านบาทต่อปี โอกาสทองสำหรับอุตสาหกรรมการท่องเที่ยวไทย ซึ่งถือเป็น 1 ใน 3 จุดหมายที่นักท่องเที่ยวกลุ่ม LGBT โดย กสอ. ได้ส่งเสริมผู้ประกอบการพัฒนา THAI LGBT CONNECT ทางเลือกใหม่ที่เข้าใจความต้องการของกลุ่มเพศทางเลือก ผลผลิตจากโครงการ Challenge Project by DIProm ใช้โอกาสช่วงวิกฤตโควิด-19 พัฒนาแพลตฟอร์มเพื่อการท่องเที่ยวสำหรับเพศทางเลือกรายแรกของไทย รวมฐานข้อมูลโรงแรม ร้านอาหาร พร้อมดึงสินค้าชุมชนขายออนไลน์ เพื่อเข้าถึงโอกาสจากการท่องเที่ยวในอุตสาหกรรมนี้ เบื้องต้นเล็งสร้างรายได้ชุมชนกว่า 20 ล้านบาท นายณัฐพล รังสิตพล อธิบดีกรมส่งเสริมอุตสาหกรรม เปิดเผยว่า อุตสาหกรรมบริการกลุ่มท่องเที่ยวในปัจจุบันเป็นที่น่าจับตา โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่ง การท่องเที่ยวของกลุ่มผู้มีความหลากหลายทางเพศ หรือ เพศทางเลือก ซึ่งผลวิจัยจากเอาท์ นาว คอนซัลติ้ง ร่วมกับ เวิลด์ ทราเวล มาร์เก็ต (WTM) พบว่านักท่องเที่ยวกลุ่มนี้มีการใช้จ่ายเพื่อการท่องเที่ยวรวมกันสูงกว่า 2 แสนล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ หรือประมาณ 6.64 ล้านล้านบาท โดยหากพิจารณาถึงประเทศจุดหมายที่นักท่องเที่ยวให้ความสนใจ พบว่าประเทศไทยถือเป็น 1 ใน 3 ประเทศเป้าหมายที่นักท่องเที่ยวกลุ่มเพศทางเลือก หรือแม้แต่นักท่องเที่ยวทั่วไปให้ความสนใจ ทั้งนี้เป็นผลจากค่าใช้จ่ายในการท่องเที่ยวที่ไม่สูงนัก ประกอบกับมาตรการด้านสาธารณะสุขที่เข้มแข็ง ทั้งนี้ ที่ผ่านมา กสอ. ได้ส่งเสริมผู้ประกอบการผ่าน “กิจกรรมเปิดทาง-สู่ธุรกิจหลัง COVID 19” ค้นหาสุดยอดผู้ประกอบการ Challenge Project by DIProm เพื่อพัฒนาผู้ประกอบการให้สามารถปรับรูปแบบการดำเนินธุรกิจในช่วงการแพร่ระบาดของโควิด-19 ซึ่งมีทีมนักวิชาการผู้เชี่ยวชาญให้คำแนะนำเชิงลึก เพื่อให้โมเดลธุรกิจที่ได้รับการพัฒนาสามารถนำไปใช้ได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ เปลี่ยนวิกฤตที่ภาคอุตสาหกรรมเผชิญ เป็นโอกาสในการพัฒนาขีดความสามารถอย่างเต็มที่ ซึ่งเป็นการดำเนินงานภายใต้ มาตรการฟื้นฟูผู้ประกอบการให้ดีพร้อมทันทีใน 90 วัน โดยหนึ่งในผู้ประกอบการที่เข้าร่วมคือเป็นผู้ประกอบการที่นำเที่ยวในกลุ่มเพศทางเลือก ในพื้นที่จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ที่อาศัยโอกาสในช่วงการแพร่ระบาดของโควิด-19 ปรับรูปแบบการดำเนินธุรกิจจากเดิมที่ได้รับผลกระทบจากมาตรการปิดประเทศ พัฒนาแพลตฟอร์มดิจิทัล THAI LGBT CONNECT ทางเลือกใหม่สำหรับนักท่องเที่ยว แม้ปัจจุบันการท่องเที่ยวยังไม่สามารถดำเนินการได้เต็มรูปแบบ แต่พบว่ายังมีความต้องการท่องเที่ยวเป็นจำนวนมาก โดยงานวิจัยจาก International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association ทำการวิจัยเกี่ยวกับการตัดสินใจท่องเที่ยวหลังวิกฤตโควิด-19 พบว่านักท่องเที่ยวกลุ่มเพศทางเลือก มีความพร้อมและต้องการท่องเที่ยวมากถึงร้อยละ 66 ซึ่งแพลตฟอร์มนี้จะสามารถสนองความต้องการของนักท่องเที่ยวสร้างรายได้ให้กับชุมชนซึ่งสามารถกระตุ้นเศรษฐกิจฐานรากได้เป็นอย่างดี นายณัฐพล กล่าว นายศกุณภัทร มโนกนกพานิช กรรมการผู้จัดการ หจก. เอเชี่ยน พลัส ทราเวล แอนด์ เซอร์วิส ระบุว่า บริษัทฯ ดำเนินธุรกิจนำเที่ยวมากกว่า 10 ปี มีนักท่องเที่ยวชาวต่างชาติให้ความสนใจใช้บริการนำเที่ยวมาโดยตลอด แต่ธุรกิจไม่สามารถดำเนินต่อไปได้เนื่องจากการแพร่ระบาดของโควิด-19 จึงเข้าร่วมโครงการฯ และได้รับการส่งเสริมจาก กสอ. ในการปรับโมเดลธุรกิจให้เท่าทันกับสถานการณ์ปัจจุบัน พร้อมคำแนะในการการจัดทำแพลตฟอร์ม THAI LGBT CONNECT เครื่องมือเพื่อการนำเที่ยว เชื่อมโยงกลุ่มผู้ประกอบการในประเทศ ฐานข้อมูลสินค้าและบริการในทุกรูปแบบที่เกี่ยวข้องกับกลุ่มเพศทางเลือก (LGBT) ทั้งชาวไทย และชาวต่างประเทศ รายแรกของไทย ซึ่งนักท่องเที่ยวกลุ่มนี้ต้องการสัมผัสเอกลักษณ์ความเป็นไทย หรือ Thainess โดยไม่จำเป็นต้องปักธงสีรุ้งในสถานที่ท่องเที่ยว แต่ให้คงเอกลักษณ์ของแหล่งท่องเที่ยว และต้องการการปฏิบัติที่เท่าเทียม ไม่ก่อให้เกิดความรู้สึกแปลกแยก โดย แพลตฟอร์ม THAI LGBT CONNECT ประกอบด้วย บริการนำเที่ยว ข้อมูลการด้านการท่องเที่ยว ซึ่งนักท่องเที่ยวสามารถเลือกสถานที่ ช่วงเวลาสำหรับการท่องเที่ยวได้ตามความต้องการ และ บริการด้านการจำหน่ายสินค้าออนไลน์ ที่จะรวบรวมสินค้าชุมชน เพื่อเป็นตลาดออนไลน์ หรือ E-Market Platform สำหรับนักท่องเที่ยว และ กลุ่มลูกค้าชาวต่างชาติ เพื่อเลือกซื้อสินค้า ในกรณีที่ยังไม่สามารถเดินทางท่องเที่ยวได้ ทั้งนี้คาดว่าแพลตฟอร์มดังกล่าว จะสร้างรายได้ให้กับสินค้าชุมชนและกระตุ้นเศรษฐกิจฐานรากได้ปีละกว่า 20 ล้านบาท สำหรับ แพลตฟอร์ม THAI LGBT CONNECT ปัจจุบันอยู่ระหว่างการพัฒนา คาดว่าจะใช้เวลาอีก 6 เดือนในการพัฒนา web-platform สำหรับรวบรวมฐานข้อมูลสินค้าและบริการที่เกี่ยวข้องกับอุตสาหกรรมท่องเที่ยวสำหรับกลุ่มหลากหลายทางเพศ ให้สามารถการดำเนินการเป็นไปอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ และพร้อมให้บริการในช่วงที่มีการประกาศเปิดประเทศสำหรับการท่องเที่ยวอย่างเป็นทางการ นายศกุณภัทร กล่าวทิ้งท้าย อย่างไรก็ดี กรมส่งเสริมอุตสาหกรรม (กสอ.) พร้อมสนับสนุนอุตสาหกรรมที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการท่องเที่ยวในทุกรูปแบบ เพื่อให้เกิดการสร้างรายได้ในชุมชน และการมีงานทำของคนในพื้นที่ เพื่อกระตุ้นเศรษฐกิจฐานราก เป็นส่วนสำคัญในการขับเคลื่อนภาคอุตสาหกรรม และ เศรษฐกิจของประเทศอย่างยั่งยืน
