Rachamankha Hotel

Info

Rachamankha

Located in the historic old city of Chiang Mai, founded in 1296, the 25-room Rachamankha sits next to Wat Phra Singh, the city's most famous temple dating back to 1345. Within easy walking distance from the hotel are four notable temples, among the thirty-three active wats in the walled city.

As a premier luxury boutique hotel, Rachamankha doesn’t reveal its charm to passersby but instead piques curiosity and sets a welcoming tone. Upon entering the hotel forecourt, guests are greeted by the Zen-like simplicity and sophistication of colonnaded courtyards, inviting them into a world of serenity and contentment. The hotel’s distinctive architectural aesthetic draws inspiration from 11th-century vernacular Chinese dwellings, which have influenced Northern Thai architecture. Designed by Thai architect Ong-ard Satrabhandhu, Rachamankha evokes the history and culture of Lanna Chiang Mai through its residential-style living. A leisurely walk through the property reveals hidden courtyards and gardens, with captivating spaces around every corner.

The Library at Rachamankha exudes old-world charm and houses over 2,000 books, including novels and works on Thai history, art, architecture, design, and culture. The library lounge provides a relaxing space for conversation and refreshments.

The enchanting open-air massage pavilion overlooks a tranquil 20-meter pool, where drinks and light snacks are served poolside throughout the day.
